Your Heart

Is A Muscle

The Heart is a Muscle is a multisensory ceramic sculpture installation featuring anatomical hearts, each visually altered to interpret a music or literary reference submitted by the public.

This project explores universal themes of the heart, emotion, and metaphor for shared human experience. By inviting the community to contribute, participants become co-creators — giving the body of work a shared sense of authorship. The artist merely acts as a facilitator.

Once a reference is submitted, the artist takes all information provided to turn words into a visual representation. The ceramic hearts are each altered individually to work alongside the reference given, and will be displayed side by side for the audience to be able to experience together.
